1. Who we are

Skilled Legal Bookkeepers (“we”, “us”) provides bookkeeping, HR and payroll, and compliance support to legal practices. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. Our address is Bryanston Gate Office Park, 71 Homestead Ave, Bryanston, Sandton, 2055, Gauteng. 2. What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, firm, email address, phone number and your message. We do not ask for banking details, identity numbers or client records through this website, and ask that you do not send them through the enquiry form.

3. Why we collect it

We use your details only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to set up and deliver our services. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

4. Your consent

We ask you to tick a box on the enquiry form to confirm you agree to this use. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using your information for that purpose, subject to any legal record-keeping duties.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and our email, who may process it on our behalf under appropriate safeguards: our website host and form processor (Netlify) and our email provider. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some of these providers may store data outside South Africa.

6. Third-party content on this website

The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps and the website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. These services may receive technical information such as your IP address when the page loads. Our links to WhatsApp and LinkedIn take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting engagement, and for any period the law requires. After that we delete or de-identify them.

8. How we protect it

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form submissions are filtered for spam, and access to enquiries is limited to our team. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to see it, and to correct or delete it. You may also object to our processing of it. To do so, email info@skilledlegalbookkeepers.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
